This event has tasters engaged from the outset, whether beer drinkers or not. Using a combination of skill developement, competition and humour, Francis leads guests on a journey through the renaissance of British real ale, whose quality never fails to win new admirers.

The ales are mostly drawn from cask for the tasting, shortly prior to the event to ensure freshness. Some of the ales covered in Ale Trumps, a game Francis developed for sale in brewery shops.
